About Fluffy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Color: Tabby
  • Declawed: No
  • Housetrained: Yes

Fluffy and her two kittens Cotton Ball and Pima, (also known as the poofies), were rescued from the same Taqueria that Dulcie and Bella Luna were rescued from a year ago. Fluffy’s  kittens were born on Cinqo de Mayo. They have all been indoor only since May 5, 2011, and need to remain indoor only.  Mom was semi-feral when taken in and initially was attacking any other cat or kitten that came remotely close to her or her kittens, (but has been great with both foster moms.) She and the babies had to be kept in a separate room at first. This past week Fluffy has joined her kittens in the living room with the other cats and kittens and is getting along well and playing with the others with very few problems.

She is a medium haired snowshoe tabby with incredibly soft fur with a very long fluffy tail. She has black spotted and black striped pattern on top with a white bib and white tummy. She is a strong, solid cat and has big golden eyes. She has had no health problems since she came into foster care. She has been an excellent mother to her two kittens. They are both very sweet, loving, and healthy. She likes to be petted and brushed and is ok with having her nails clipped if you are gentle and talk to her while doing it. Fluffy will on occasion talk to you. She likes to sleep near you in the bedroom, but not on the bed with you.

She still is a little hesitant about contact with humans as she was found in an area where she was most likely abused by humans. She needs to be in a home with someone who is very patient, loving, and kind, and willing to work with her. Fluffy does respond to gentle redirection. She and her babies will run around together and she loves to wrestle and play with them. She also will play with a variety of toys. She is still nursing the little boy at times, but is in the process of weaning him.

She will eat both canned and dry food. She also likes crackers and tortilla chips. She has been spayed and has had one cat shot and her rabies shot; she will need two more shots which we will provide. She is negative for AIDS’/Leukemia and heart worm. Fluffy is in her second home since being taken in on May 5 due to an incident between two dogs in her former home. She has had no contact with dogs in either foster home and it’s not known how she feels about dogs.

Fluffy has had a tough start and needs to be in a loving, gentle, forever, indoor only home. She will return your love and kindness to her; right back to you

It is suggested as with all feline adoptions to keep a new companion indoors for a several weeks so they become familiar with the new surroundings. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
