If you are interested, have questions, or to schedule a personal viewing for this companion only, please contact Ms. Laurie Jane Eberle, volunteer for Love of Animals, Visalia Division, Visalia, California, at 559-697-5070 or laurie@loveofanimals.org.
Ricky came to Love of Animals as a friend of his previous owner knew he was a great dog and it would have been unfair to put him down. So VOSPCA contacted the adoption coordinator to see what could be done. Ricky was placed first in one foster home but since the previous owner knew where Ricky was at came and took him off the property. Anyways Ricky ended back at VOSPCA and the adoption coordinator was called again. This time she kept Ricky herself.
Ricky is a sweet, playful, wonderful companion who needs a forever home and not living on the streets. He is in great shape and will make a great companion especially for a female. He pretty much stays near his foster mom and even sleeps on her bed at night with other foster/personal companions. Ricky knows some basic commands and loves.....just loves his Frisbee!
As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
Note - Previous owner had numerous run-ins with animal control officers along with VPD. The condition to surrender Ricky to LOA was to make sure he found a new home with a new family. All adopters will be screened to ensure that he is being adopted for their family and not to be given back to previous owner.
