Bishop and two other of his canine companions came into foster care due to dissolution of marriage.
Bishop is a standard size Dachshund and has 1 eye that is half blue which is a dapple charaturistic. He is very....very....very playful which is uncommon in Dachshunds. At first the foster mom thought he was not happy about being placed then found out he will flip on his back to play and get loved. Bishop also needs to have the last word.....he will bark at unfarmiliar sounds and when asked to be quiet will look at you and argue......I swear he does.
He sleeps in a doggy bed on the floor as he got banded from the bed for chewing on a pillow case cover. He can come on the bed when we are lying down but not when no one is in the room. He is also a bit food aggressive so it might be best to separate him and others by different bowls or rooms. Over all Bishop is a good boy who just really needs a human to play with him.
As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
