September was rescued from an abusive female owner. She seems to prefer males as she warmed up faster to her foster dad. She is independent until she gets to know you. It will take time, love, and committment from her new family to give her a chance. It took time but foster mom is now able to pet her and give her love then when she was first surrendered.

It is suggested as with all feline adoptions to keep a new companion indoors for a few weeks so they become familiar with the new surroundings. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
