Ritzy Rescue and Posh Puppy are programs created by LOA Foothill to connect Purebred  or "Designer" dogs with loving families who want to rescue rather than purchase specific breeds. Some of our dogs are the surplus  that is the inevitable result of puppy mills. Puppy mills discard adult dogs when they are no longer useful for breeding purposes and will frequently overextend their operations to the point where they have to get rid of puppies quickly. While we don't condone the puppy mill's operations, we do rescue the dogs that are no longer of any use to them. Ritzy Rescue works to find homes for retired breeders. These dogs have good bloodlines , meet breed standards and would sell for anywhere from $400 to $1500 through the breeders.

Many of our Ritzy dogs have been rescued from 'kill' shelters in this area, some in such poor condition that it takes a very practiced eye to even recognize their breed! These are the true diamonds in the rough. They require a lot of TLC, grooming, behavior work and often medical treatment before they can be adopted into loving homes.

Applicants who meet our strict screening criteria will be able to adopt them for a donation of $200.

Posh Puppy features purebred/designer puppies less than six months of age. They will be available to qualified adopters for a donation of$250.

These dogs are no more worthy than our wonderful mixed breed rescue dogs, but we do recognize the demand for them. The increased donation fees help fund our non-profit, all volunteer rescue group. Our major expenses are food and veterinary care and even with the generosity of the community and the revenues from our standard adoption programs we struggle to make ends meet. Please support our rescue by adopting instead of buying from a breeder. Sissy is currently the QUEEN of her universe- and that is why she needs a new home. She is living in the foothills on a ranch with wide-open spaces. She is such a fearless littel gal that she just takes off when the wanderlust strikes and goes hiking in the hills. She apparently has not learned about coyotes and other predators.
We want to find a home for her where she can play in a a safe,secure yard and have lots of time with people. She gets bored easily and needs lots of attention. She is extremely well behaved and woould be a wonderful addition to any family.
