|
Joey came to us when his owners needed to clear some of their companions due to their age and relocating. Joey's family at one time were breeders but had stopped for a few years. He had always been on their property and knew nothing about the world beyond their front door.
When Joey came to his foster home, he had came with a couple of other companions from his original home which helped the transition. They all fit right into their foster home fairly fast. Joey still needs reassurance when he goes into a new home but gets better once he feels comfortable. He does cry a little but stops after a short time.
Please give Joey a chance to brighten your day. He loves to cuddle and sleeps with his foster mom, other dogs and a cat companion. Very light weight and not squirmmy so he would be good with a mature person. If around kids, please watch to ensure they are gentle with him.
As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
Love of Animals will screen potential adoption parents to ensure the companion WILL NOT be a fighting dog.
